Graeme Todd

Graeme Todd has been a trusted legal adviser in the Queenstown Lakes region for over four decades. He works with private clients, overseas residents, local, national and international corporations. A former Principal and Director of the firm, Graeme co-founded Todd Walker with Principal Michael Walker.

Graeme has considerable experience in several specialist areas, including advising on the acquisition of large farms and other significant commercial property transactions and developments. He is also an adviser on applications and proceedings under the Overseas Investment Act – a specialist area of property and business law for overseas persons wishing to acquire property and businesses in New Zealand.

Graeme has during his career been a senior member of the Resource Management Law bar and has acted on some of the largest resource management cases in the South Island.

Raised in Invercargill, Graeme has practised law in the Queenstown Lakes District since 1981. In 2009, Graeme’s service to the law and the community was recognised by the Archbishop of Canterbury with a South Island warrant to act as a Notary Public.

Graeme has successfully acted on a pro-bono bases for a number of community groups in respect to significant projects or planning processes over the years.

Graeme says his motivation to continue to practice is the clients he gets to work for, the people he works with and meets and the long-standing family client relationships he has, some now reaching into third generations.

In his spare time, Graeme is a trustee and honorary solicitor for a number of community organisations. He also enjoys travelling, golf, and trying to keep up with his busy family.

Graeme is available for appointments in our Queenstown office on Mondays and Thursdays.
